An opportunity to take your business to the next level is what has motivated many exhibitors and trade visitors to register for the new Trade Programme launching at Decorex Joburg this year.

Decorex SA recently announced a two-day trade programme aimed at bringing exhibitors and members of the décor, design, hospitality, retail, architecture and building trade together. The programme forms part of Decorex Joburg 2015 and 100% Design South Africa – the two exhibitions that take place from 6 to 10 August at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.

In addition to the two-day programme, exhibitors and members of the trade who register now will automatically form part of the targeted business-to-business matchmaking service, designed to give trade visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to meet and engage on an one-on-one basis. This leads to meaningful connections before and during the show in order to maximise business networking.

Phillip Richards of Blu Line Kitchens said that in the past they had marketed their business directly to the consumer. Having registered for the Decorex Joburg trade programme, he says they now look forward to interacting with interior designers and architects about their kitchen designs too. “The best case scenario is to have both consumers and members of the trade specifying our product for a construction project,” he said. In registering for the trade programme, Blu Line automatically becomes part of a business matchmaking process, whereby the company is connected to members of the trade who will be visiting Decorex to find new kitchen designs.

Tile specialists Douglas Jones have already registered for business matchmaking at Decorex Joburg: “This potential access to a bigger market is very exciting for us,” said marketing director Kitty Douglas-Jones. “We traditionally rely on retailers to sell our product but by making contact with members of the décor and interiors trade, hopefully we will be able to tell them all about our products and they will be specifying our tiles for their jobs.”

Liz Myakayaka, of Van Dyck Carpets, shared these sentiments: “In the past we have mainly focused on marketing to the consumer. But we have a huge selection of commercial products and this business matchmaking process could open a big door for us.”

Cairey Baxter Bruce, head of Business Development at Decorex SA, called on all Decorex exhibitors to register as soon as possible for the business matchmaking programme at Decorex Joburg. For all exhibitor registrations please click here.

“The sooner you become involved, the sooner you can start making those connections and start pursuing business opportunities.”’
Interior designers, architects and other professionals in the building and décor industries are being invited to register now on in order to benefit from the trade programme being facilitated by Africa’s largest décor, design and lifestyle exhibition.

Trade visitors have also expressed their enthusiasm for the new trade programme:
Gideon Bronkhorst, procurement manager of the Four Seasons Hotel in Westcliff, Johannesburg, said Decorex Joburg was an important opportunity for his team to see what was available locally.

“Of course we source internationally, but it is so useful to go to Decorex and find those products with a shorter lead time and where we can interact with the suppliers in person and discuss a specific look for our needs.”

Kylie Harborth of, an online décor and furniture store, said Decorex Joburg was always a valuable opportunity for her to source new products for her website.

“I don’t know what I would do without Decorex Joburg and 100% Design South Africa where they have so many exhibitors under one roof. The new trade networking opportunities make a lot of sense and it will be nice to have the opening morning to ourselves without so many other visitors.”

Upon registration, exhibitors and members of the trade will be asked to select their area of interest and/or expertise within the world of décor and design. Relevant contacts will immediately be identified, introduced and the business networking will begin.
