African Waste Week is a collaboration between Thebe Reed Exhibitions and Osiba Management. These two-industry leading companies have joined forces to develop Africa’s most valuable, comprehensive waste management conference and expo.
The event’s primary objective is to show-case the significant business potential Africa’s waste streams can create. South Africa’s Department of Science & Technology believes that through investment in the sector and development and implementation of directed waste research, development and innovation, South Africa can grow its waste and recycling industry from its current R15.3b a year, or 0.51% of GDP in 2012, to between 1% and 1.5% of GDP. African Waste Week has aligned themselves with leading associations in the industry such as: National Recycling Forum (NRF), Plastics SA, GreenCape, Wesgro, e-Waste Association of South Africa (EWASA) and Southern African Biogas Industry Association (SABIA). The official knowledge partner for the event is Frost & Sullivan with 3S Media, ReSource Magazine, Municipal Focus Magazine and Green Economy Journal being the official media partners.

The African Waste Week Exhibition will create a market place for buyers and sellers in the industry where new products and services can be discovered and new business contacts can be made. African Waste Week Exhibition presents an opportunity to engage with professionals from sectors such as local government, construction, hospitality, transport, resources and healthcare, for whom waste management, recycling and sustainable solutions are increasingly vital.
