Youth Development: A list of available South African bursaries


Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme

Apply for a bursary through ETDP SETA or the Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme and you could be on your way to qualifying as a teacher.

The Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) is one of 23 SETAs established as a result of the Skills Development Act. The main purpose of the SETAs is to address skills shortages in South Africa by identifying the skills needs of specific industries and sectors, to be a conduit to up-skilling both employed and unemployed citizens, to assess and monitor their progress and ensure that they successfully complete their programmes and are certified as competent to compete in the workplace and find suitable employment.

CETA

The Construction Education and Training Authority(CETA) supports and facilitates the development, availability and retention of skilled human capital directly related to the Construction Sector’s activities.

Bursaries will be made available to develop identified skills, with special emphasis onscarce and critical skills. In order to be eligible for a bursary, applicants will have to fulfill the following criteria:
squareBulletlite be in possession of a Senior Certificate / matriculation
squareBulletlite have successfully completed one or more years of study at a recognised tertiary institution
squareBulletlite be South African citizens
squareBulletlite
have proof that they are registered or are about to be registered at a tertiary institution recognised by CETA
